Jerry and I went to Deet's Place tonight after Empo-ing to get some coffee...
Anyway... while we were there "deep" thoughts on love became the topic of discussion... and here's what we came up with. (Sorry if it sounds hopeless... we just happen to be two pretty hopeless people facing conundrums).
Revelation 1: You know that saying "It's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all?" I think we both prefer the latter. Why bother putting yourself through all the non-sense that comes with "love," we're all probably better off without it. However, it is not to be confused with empathy. I can deal with being empathic towards another person, that's fine, I just can't deal with the former. And maybe that's what this is all about, just trying to figure it out on your own. I don't see the point when you come up short every time and you end up hurt or feeling like you have nothing. Is it better to settle than to just have high hopes?
Revelation 2: Via the lovely mind of Derrick Brown, short, simple, genius, and true: "The one who loves the most is at the mercy of the one who loves the least"
On a happy note... here's a awesome new T-shirt site run by the guys of bustedtees.com. Check it out, buy a shirt, look cool.
Defunker!
