Home Sweet Home...

After being away for a year, it's so good to come back and it's even better to gain a whole new outlook on the metropolitan area and appreciate it more. And I present to you an updated version of you know you're from the metro area when/if/random things you should know:

- We enjoy our Segways and Vespas tremendously. (You can even do city tours on a segway for $65)
- When going to Georgetown, one always looks like a rockstar
- You've probably had your picture taken by the Post on a weekend style watch
- You've gone to school with offspring of the Redskins or you live next door to a Redskins football player.
- One word: Wonkette
- More Words: Jessica Cutler scandal
- Someone in your family has worked, is working, or will be working on Capitol Hill
- Lacoste and Ralph Lauren polos with plaid pants is the standard uniform for most males here
- BMWs, white guys, and bad rap music, need I say more?
- We love our SUVs
- Your family knows the congressman and goes to his campaign parties, or you've paried with his kids. Cough Cough F.W.
- You've been on a boat in the middle of the Potomac... partying of course
- You've memorized the museums and monuments like the back of your hand
- You know 5 different ways to get to the beltway and depending on what time of the day it is, you can usually tell someone which loop goes faster.
- You are a socialite on the weekends going to Charity events either in the City or at a Country Club
- You know your dinner wines
- Housing in the City costs as much as housing in New York and you wonder why you haven't moved yet
- HUMIDITY
- Great Falls
- You've been to Sequoia and sat on their gorgeous balcony as the sun set over the Potomac and Kennedy center
- You go to Cosi's for lunch like it's no big deal and for dessert you order the S'mores
- Dupont Circle... known for it's great shopping and beautiful (yet gay) men
- You know never to go to Fino's even if there is a decent live band playing
- You've seen the president... driving on the toll road
- You know where secret buildings are because you have family members working there
- Half your friends don't know what their parents do because it's "top secret"
- You know never to go to the Platnium Club
- You laugh when you drive by planet splash and play
- You've memorized the metro map
- Victorians on Canal Street make you wish you had $900,000 so you could snag one for yourself
- You have a trust fund
- The opening of the new Flordian on U-Street makes you rethink that Victorian on Canal that you want and opt for a more NYC kinda loft life in one of the swankiest and simultaneously sketchiest parts of DC.
- You were never a baseball fan until the Nationals became a team and didn't suck
- You live within a 15 mile radius of Dave Grohl's High School or you actually attended it
- You are good friends with the boys of Over It, VaCo, O.A.R, and Dispatch because you went to school with them. PS: We used to call these bands "local" Oh, Minor Threat and Fugazi started here too.

Now, it's your turn - add anything else that I missed.
