Not in vain.

A VT student who has been in critical condition since Saturday died today. His name was Brian McCloskey and he was a Freshman at Tech. I wasn't friends with him but those that were absolutely adored him. I guess I don't have much to stay other than this is certainly a tragedy, but I do have to say that times like these get you thinking a lot about life and the choices you make. It teaches you to value your life a little more and to always tell your friends and family you love them. It makes you hug your friends a little tighter and to overlook petty things because life is far too short for all of this. It teaches you to help your friends in their times of need no matter how annoyed you are at the moment. For example, when a friend gets too drunk for their own good and is sick. You've experienced it or have seen it happen. You surely don't want to be the person cleaning this up because it shouldn't have happened in the first place, but it's times like these that your friends need your help the most because they can't help themselves. It's better to help them and be mad at them for awhile than to turn and walk away and regret it.

very true.

a lifetime of guilt doesn't even compare to a night of annoyance.

hug as often as you breathe.
