4 more weeks until I'm in New York with my best friends...

that said, does anybody have suggestions on where to go and what to do? We're going to be there May 20 - 24th and we definately have a trip to SoHo for some shopping planned. We're debating whether or not to go to a Broadway show... I guess we'll decide once we get there. But does anyone have any suggestions on where to go for dinner or any artsy type places to visit. We hear that SoHo should be perfect as far as artsy stuff and shopping goes. But we want to hear suggestions on the best pizza places (I mean common, I have to eat this notorious NY pizza while I'm there). If anyone happens to have any suggestions, by all means, please leave a post! Post anon. if you want to. We'll take all the advice we can get. What should we do at night? Are there going to be any good concerts in between those dates? Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated! :)

PS: it's 75 degrees out today! GORGEOUS!

Hi, I stumbled on your blog through the "Next Blog" button.

If you might want to catch a Broadway show, definitely get your tickets at the TKTS booth in Times Square the day of the performance. Great seats for cheap. (Or go to www.talkinbroadway.com, click on 'On the Boards/Rush & SRO,' and look for student discounts.)

The best pizza, in my opinion, is Grimaldi's, which is in Brooklyn. If the weather's nice, I'd recommend walking over the Brooklyn Bridge, making your way to Grimaldi's (it's just over the bridge), then walking another block to the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, on the waterfront, overlooking lower Manhattan. It's a great place for pictures.

Shopping, well, you can't go wrong in SoHo. Check out the new(ish) Bloomingdale's on Broadway. They have a lot of new, young designers that they don't carry in the Bloomie's uptown. Also, if you find yourself on 5th Avenue and 57th, definitely pop into Henri Bendel's. The cosmetics floor is an especially fun place to browse.

Have fun!
